Our Governance

On behalf of the FE Corporation, I would like to welcome you to the website of Education Training Collective (Etc.).

Etc. is the umbrella name for our group, which incorporates Stockton Riverside College, Redcar and Cleveland College, NETA Training, Bede Sixth Form College, The Skills Academy, Tees Valley Logistics Academy and Tees Valley Catering.

The Stockton Riverside College site in Thornaby, close to Stockton centre, and the Redcar & Cleveland College site, both focus on general and vocational further and higher education, tailored to local communities. Academic courses are offered at Bede Sixth Form in Billingham and the college’s Sports Centre is situated close to the Sixth Form building. The Skills Academy, also in Billingham, offers introductory level courses for 14-18 year olds with a focus on practical learning. NETA Training Group provides a range of industrial training, as well as apprenticeships and some specialist 16 to 18 provision. The group also delivers some provision off-campus in partnership with employers, and voluntary and community organisations.

We are confident that students across all our campuses are receiving very high quality education, training and support to prepare them for exciting futures in higher education and employment, and are very proud of our 2022 Ofsted judgement of ‘good’ with ‘outstanding’ for behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and education programmes for young people. We are proud of our strong relationships with local partners and are fully committed to meeting the needs of our local communities, in particular local businesses. We strive to support economic growth through excellence in education and training, and the ability to develop strong and cohesive relationships.

I hope that the information on the website will be of interest to you.

Should you have any queries about the governance arrangements, or if you are interested in becoming a governor or involved with the college, please contact the Clerk to the Corporation (sarah.thompson@the-etc.ac.uk or 07969334693) who will be pleased to provide more information.
