Anne Grieves – Co-opted Member

Profile:

Having built a career spanning more than 25 years in senior international finance leadership roles, Anne is currently Financial Control Director for EMEA at Worley. Throughout her career she has held a wide range of senior finance positions with responsibility for financial governance, internal and external audit, statutory compliance, risk management, due diligence, business transformation, and strategic financial oversight across multiple legal entities and complex international operating environments. She has extensive experience supporting business growth, driving operational improvements, strengthening financial controls, and ensuring organisations meet the highest standards of corporate governance and regulatory compliance. Working across diverse teams and cultures, Anne has developed a strong track record of leading change, building high-performing finance functions, and providing trusted strategic advice to senior leadership.

In her co-opted role with ETC,  she hopes to bring this breadth of experience to an organisation whose mission is focused on creating opportunities, developing skills, and supporting communities across the Tees Valley. She is particularly passionate about helping individuals realise their potential through education and training and is inspired by ETC’s commitment to delivering high-quality learning experiences and practical skills development. Having benefited from further education herself, Anne understands the important role that education can play in transforming lives, opening doors to new opportunities, and supporting economic growth within local communities.

Anne believes strongly in the value of lifelong learning and is committed to supporting ETC in achieving its strategic objectives, strengthening governance, and ensuring the organisation continues to make a positive and lasting impact on students, employers, and the wider region. Through her role, she looks forward to contributing her professional expertise while supporting the continued success and development of the organisation.

Anne lives in the Billingham area with her partner, Steven. She was awarded Student of the Year at Hartlepool College of Further Education, an achievement that reflects her long-standing commitment to learning and personal development. Outside of work, she enjoys running, boxing, travelling, and embracing new challenges.
